Saint-Malo is easy to reach, just 2 hours and 15 minutes from Paris by TGV, and 1 hour and 30 minutes by plane from London. Each year, over one million visitors pass through its port, eager to explore the fortified corsair city, the stunning Bay of Saint-Malo, the elegant seaside town of Dinard, the scenic Rance Valley with its unique hydroelectric dam, or the world-famous Mont Saint-Michel, located just 45 km away.

Birthplace of Jacques Cartier and many other notable figures, Saint-Malo is a city rooted in history yet fully open to modernity. It is remarkably dynamic, regularly hosting major international sailboat races such as the Route du Rhum and the Saint-Malo–Québec Transat. Its cultural life is just as vibrant, with renowned festivals including Étonnants Voyageurs, Quai des Bulles, Classique au Large, and Folklores du Monde.

Your Schedule

The program will include French Classes in the mornings:

You will enjoy 15 hours of French per week, with fun and engaging classes from Monday to Friday (9:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.).

The program follows the CEFR framework and helps you build all four key skills: speaking, listening, reading, and writing.

We use the Édito textbook for adults (you may get the book, but it not mandatory), plus creative materials designed by our teachers.

Classes are lively and interactive, so everyone gets to take part, practice a lot, and make fast progress. We love encouraging conversation, participation, and real communication between learners and teachers.

You’ll have your afternoons free to enjoy cultural activities, sightseeing, or just relaxing!

A Great Location

ACCOMMODATION

Accommodation is in a host family, on a half-board formula: housing +breakfast + dinner.

You will be welcomed within our host families and each family will pick you up at your arrival place (train station or Alliance Française).

Housing within a family allows you to benefit from a complete immersion in the French language and culture.

Our host families are chosen with special attention, for their friendliness, their availability and their interest for exchange. Accommodations are selected in compliance with the quality charter of the Alliance française (comfort, cleanliness and location).

Families selected by the Alliance Française Bretagne will receive a learner completed sheet, two weeks before the latter’s arrival. Therefore, we request that each learner sends back his sheet as early as possible.
