The Alliance Française de Détroit Scholarships

With the mission to encourage students to continue their studies in French, the AFD/FIM will annually award two scholarships:

One to a High School student who will pursue a French program in College and one to a College or University Freshman or Sophomore student seeking a minor or Bachelor degree in French studies:

The Alliance Francaise de Détroit Scholarship.

In the amount of $500 (cash) awarded annually by the Alliance Française de Detroit/French Institute of Michigan to two students per year who are resident of Macomb, Oakland, Wayne or Washtenaw County.

In order to qualify for the High School scholarship, applicants must be non-native French speakers enrolling in French coursework beyond the introductory level in their freshman year at college or university. Courses in classical civilization will not be accepted.

Please complete the application and submit it along with the required essay, current transcript and two letters of recommendation, one of which must be your French referring teacher who would receive a $50 check, if you won the scholarship, The submission deadline is March 31st, 2024.

In order to qualify for the University / College scholarship, applicants must be enrolled in French course at a college or university level. Courses in classical civilization will not be accepted.
